Last week's aerification was a memorable one. The crew arrived Monday
morning anxious to start only to be sent home shortly after as the rain
began to intensify. We eventually broke ground Tuesday afternoon with
1.5 inches of rain in the gauge and the sun finally poking through the
clouds. Staying late, we finished 5 greens and were ready to keep moving
Wednesday morning when temperatures fell to18 degrees overnight with the wind
chill leaving the ground solid as a rock, frozen. Thursday saw more
delays as snow blanketed the short grass and by Friday late afternoon we
were completing the 18th green with a sigh of relief.
