For about the past month we have, in some shape or form, been
dealing with an irrigation issue. It all started the day we charged up the system
and noticed that we had some weeping heads scattered around the course. We decided to shut the main pump down since it was so wide spread. The very next day, after charging up the system we had a head on our
6th hole shoot straight out of the ground. As we started to repair
the other holes we realized we had a reoccurring nightmare on our hands. All of
the swing joints seemed to be breaking on the threading right below the head. After repairing some 15 heads we thought we were in the clear but no such luck. A few days ago we thought we had all the heads fixed but as we began to run the fairways through for the 4th time a new issue cropped up.
OLD FAITHFUL |
The new issue is a crack or complete a break in the housing
and have had to replace 4 heads like this just on 16 fwy alone. In the last couple of days we have had our fingers crossed and it has seemed to work. Only one internal became dislodged from a head on the
15th hole. The issues have come in waves and I hope that the tides
have finally settled.
